RSI
RSI has been grouped into two categories:
1. Dynamic RSI
This form is caused by repeated movements such as those that occur among people working on assembly lines and at cash registers. In these situations, the concentrated and repeated stress on muscles can lead to such disorders as tendonitis, tenosynovitis and bursitis.
2. Static RSI
This form is widespread among computer users. The neck and shoulder muscles are tensed during an extended period. There is not enough variation in the activities being carried out, and rest periods are lacking. Muscles stiffen up which in turn leads to pain and discomfort.
Due to this constant strain, blood circulation decreases in the muscles. Waste products are not sufficiently carried off so that acidification and painful tingling in these tissues occurs.
